SWABI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Saturday called for real accountability of the entire political leadership in the country before the next elections so that the masses could get rid of the gang of plunderers forever.
Addressing a big public meeting, he said that Nawaz Sharif and Zardari were the product of the same status quo which had plunged the country into the poverty, lawlessness, unemployment and energy crisis.
The JI chief said that the JI had come out against the status quo forces so that the nation could be freed from the tyrannical and exploitative system.
Sirajul Haq urged the masses to support the JI for the enforcement of the Shariah as a system which alone could steer the country out of the present mess.
He said the present government had conspired against the laws related to the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat ordinance when the Punjab law minister had termed Ahmedis as Muslims.
Sirajul Haq further said that if the government was not involved in conspiracy then the official committee report headed by Raja Zafrul Haq in this matter, should be released at the earliest.
He said that Nawaz Sharif himself had been expressing favourable views about Ahmedis. He also said that Nawaz Sharif had termed Vajpayee and Modi as friends, thus, betraying the Kashmiri cause for freedom.
Moreover, the JI chief said that the government was openly violating the court orders and was making every effort to escape accountability. Siraj said that he assured the Supreme Court that the JI stood by the judiciary in this difficult situation. He said that if the accountability of the plunderers was not held now, then it would not be possible to do so ever.
Sirajul Haq said that it was an irony that the country was under debt to the tune of $ 82 billion, while around $ 500 billion dollars, owned by the Pakistanis, was lying in different banks abroad.
He said if this amount was made available, the loan of the country could be paid off and the general public would get the basic necessities of life.
